Richard Varney Memorial Poetry Reading
Friday, June 21st, 7:00 pm

Join Virginia Walker and Bill Batcher for the annual Richard Varney Memorial Poetry Reading.

Batcher and Walker will be joined by members of the Art/Rich Poetry Roundtable who will read from the Varney Poetry collection at the library (works of famous poets), established by friends of Richard Varney.

The reading honors the late Richard Varney who was an important contributor to the Poetry Roundtable. 

Shelter Island poet Virginia Walker, a retired professor of English at Dowling College and Suffolk County Community College and the co-author of Neuron Mirror (along with Michael Walsh)

Bill Batcher, EdD, has published poetry in magazines, anthologies and online collections. He has won several awards, and has multiple books of poems—Footsteps to the Resurrection (2005), Celebrations (2014), Imaginings (2016), and Challenges (2022).

This program will take place in person at the library.
